RESISTANCE IN ROMENNA
Paul Rose

This tale
is set during the time when the Faithful were hidden in seclusion in Romenna,
prior to the Fall of Numenor. Elendil, Isildur and Anarion hold their ground,
Amandil has sailed in secret to seek Manwe in Aman, breaking the ban to plead for mercy
upon men from the Valar. Elendil's father has charged him with the survival of his
people, telling him to cleave to the haven and prepare ships laden with all such treasures
as the chosen could not bear to part. This includes the seven seeing stones and the
sapling of Nimloth grown from the fruit stolen from the White Tree by Isildur.
Isildur has recovered from his wounds since that time and is now strong again.

The White Tree has been burned however, by Sauron the Deciever, at a
Great Silver Domed Temple built in Armenelos the Golden in the name of Ar Pharazon, the
King.
The nine ships of the Faithful lay readied in the haven. The gardens of Romenna lay
unspoiled. The summons has been rejected.
This tale explores what might have happened in between Elendil refusing the summons
and Sauron sending his servants. It will be told from the perspective of one not of
the Faithful however.
